As you can see, we've ended our LED renaming contest. The vote was very close between LightBurst and Cosmic Stream, but LightBurst edged it out in the end. As such, our Firefly LEDs will now be known as LightBurst LEDs. Thank you to everyone who both submitted names and voted! The interest was very positive and we're very pleased at how it went.

In addition to renaming the strobing LEDs, we've also added another color combination. You may have noticed it on the LED colors page, but if not, the new LED is a Purple/White/Blue LightBurst and it's beautiful. That brings our LightBurst count to 5 LEDs now, and we're always looking at new combinations. If you have anything you'd like to suggest, drop us a line and let us know!

Beginning very soon, we will have a single charger solution for all hoops and staffs. Currently we offer 3 different charger choices - car, wall and USB with a car adapter. In the next couple weeks we'll be dropping the wired car/wall chargers entirely and switching entirely to a USB charging cable. This cable will come with adapters for both home and car. So, you can charge your hoop or staff with pretty much any USB device, the wall, or the car and it will all be included. We will also be selling the cable and both adapters separately if you'd like to go that route.

We're very happy to announce that our lead time on orders has changed to 3-5 weeks. We've been working very hard and have made great progress in our production output. We anticipate lowering it further some time in the next week or so and we'll certainly keep you posted!

With additions also come subtractions. We will no longer be offering LLDPE (SuperFlex) in full size hoops. We will, however, still offer the 3/4" and 7/8" LLDPE tubing for mini hoops, but full size hoops (25" and larger) will only be sold in 3/4" and 7/8" HDPE tubing. The store page will be updated soon to reflect this.

Speaking of the store page; We're working on a new store to replace the current PayPal buttons. We've never considered that permanent and we now have a solution that should work very well. We've been working for quite a while to find something that worked well, and we're almost there. Stay tuned!

We'll definitely have more news in the coming week or so. Things are on the move and we're very excited about some of the things we have going on. Thank you for making Lighted Lifestyle your choice for LED hoops and staffs!

The suggestions have been sorted and here are the finalists for the strobing LED naming contest!

We would like to offer a big thanks to everyone who entered names in the contest. We had some truly great and creative suggestions. It was difficult to narrow it down, but unfortunately we just had to.

Just to be clear about how this works:

You MUST login to vote.  Either with an account on this website, or with a Facebook account using Facebook Connect.  Once you login, you will be able to vote in the poll on the left hand side.  This is to ensure a fair vote and avoid ballot stuffing.

Good luck to all who made the final vote!

Schwagstock was a blast down at Camp Zoe this past weekend. It was great to meet so many of you rocking the Lighted Lifestyle hoops! I've got to say, it was really cool to look down from the top of the field and see so many hoopers dancing during the show. Thank you for choosing Lighted Lifestyle to make your hoops!

Well, as I'm sure all of you know, festival season is in full swing. In honor of that, and due to the overwhelming success of our new 7-color LEDs, we're going to drop the $1 additional charge for the strobing LEDs. I say strobing LEDs instead of Firefly because Firefly is a registered trademark as far as LED hoops go, and I respect that. So, I will be changing the name of the LEDs to something else.

I'm going to be taking suggestions for new names in the next few days and if I use the name you suggest, I'll send you a free 20 LED hoop! Stay tuned for details on the contest in the next few days!

Firefly [re]naming contest now open! PDF Print E-mail
Written by Kurt
Monday, 14 June 2010 21:56
As I said a couple weeks ago, we are renaming our strobing (Firefly) LEDs. I posted that we would be having a contest where you could enter your suggestion for a new name and have a chance at winning a 20 LED hoop. That contest is now active! Here are a few of the guidelines...

  • All suggestions must be sent via email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . No other emails or messages will be accepted for consideration.
  • You MUST include your name with your submission. This is to make sure you're who you say you are in the event you win and also to deter email flooding with suggestions.
  • Voting will take place when we have decided there are enough submissions to pick from. This is at the discretion of the Lighted Lifestyle team.
  • You must be registered on the website (or via Facebook Connect) to vote.
  • IPs will be logged from voters. Ballot stuffing will not be allowed. If we believe this has taken place, we will ban the IP address from participating in this contest.

We want this to be a fun and creative exercise for everybody. Let's keep it fair and have a good time with it!
Thanks in advance for participating! We've had a lot of interest in this and we're excited to give hoopers the opportunity to name the LEDs they use!

So, we thought it was high time we mixed things up a little on the website!  We're very pleased with the layout, and we hope you will be as well.

One of the main goals of a website should be to provide you with all the content you're looking for in a very clean and easy to use manner.  It should also be fast.  We think we've really hit the nail on the head in all respects, and we hope you'll agree.  This is a work in progress, and we will be adding functionality as we go with this new look.

If you have any suggestions, we would love to hear them.  Just This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and let us know what you think!  Whether you love it or hate it, don't be afraid to give us feedback!
